Our Open Positions
project superintendent
Job Description:
The Project Superintendent is the field leader and schedule driver responsible for the daily execution of construction projects. This role ensures jobsites are safe, efficient, high-quality, and on schedule while building trust with clients, trade partners, and the internal team. The Superintendent sets the tone for professionalism, pace, and craftsmanship on every site.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Scheduling & Site Management
The Superintendent owns the construction schedule like it’s their playbook, anticipating two to three weeks ahead and aligning subcontractors accordingly. They maintain accurate, real-time schedules in Buildertrend, ensure work follows current plans and scope, and identify risks early to protect project delivery.
Team & Subcontractor Coordination
Daily or weekly site huddles keep trades aligned. The Superintendent communicates scope, sequence, and expectations clearly, holding subcontractors accountable to schedule, quality, and safety standards. They support the Project Manager with real-time updates and field-based decisions.
Resource & Logistics Management
This role oversees material deliveries, staging, and equipment coordination to maintain an organized, clean, and safe jobsite. The Superintendent anticipates constraints before they become issues and ensures efficient use of resources, including the return of rentals and equipment.
Quality Control & Inspections
A keen eye for detail ensures that deficiencies are caught early. The Superintendent upholds OTDB’s quality standards, prepares for and leads city or third-party inspections confidently, and supports corrective actions when needed.
Task Resolution & Trade Accountability
Minor gaps or tasks are identified and addressed promptly by the appropriate trade. Hands-on work occurs only when modeling standards or maintaining project flow. The Superintendent maintains a forward-looking mindset, delegating effectively to keep progress on track.
Professionalism & Client Presence
Every site is a reflection of OTDB’s values. The Superintendent represents the company with integrity and professionalism, fostering strong, respectful relationships with clients, neighbors, and trade partners while communicating proactively to build trust and confidence.
Above-the-Line Commitments
Superintendents at OTDB show up with ownership, thinking “This is my project to run successfully.” They lead with clarity and accountability, with no surprises. They model curiosity and learning, seek solutions when challenges arise, and build others up through mentorship and example.
A-Player Success Looks Like
The jobsite is clean, safe, and efficient, and subcontractors want to work there. Daily work aligns with the schedule, issues are resolved quickly, and trades understand and meet expectations. Clients and neighbors feel respected and informed. Inspections pass smoothly because preparation happens long before the inspector arrives. Buildertrend and reporting tools reflect real-time truth, not catch-up entries. Above all, the Superintendent models pace, quality, and mentorship, raising the bar for the entire team.
